As any PC user knows, drivers are absolutely essential to bring out the best in terms of performance from your hardware. This fact was brought home to me when many years ago I updated the drivers for my Creative Sound Card and it was as if there was a new machine or a new sound card. Even recently I had to downgrade from Windows 7 back to Windows XP because I could not find drivers to make my sound card and webcam work with Windows 7 (as well as many other issues with 64-bit software).
